Night lights are very helpful, don't you think? I have one next to my bed. Once the lights are off, it tells me where my bed is, while also leaving just a tad bit of light so I don't stumble or run into something.
As Christians, we need to be night lights. Those that don't know the Lord are walking in pitch black darkness. God calls us to, "go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation." (Mark 16:15) Therefore, our light can show them how to come to Jesus without tripping, falling, or running into a wall. God is the electricity, you are the bulb. He supplies the energy (love) that causes the light, you are the wick (body) that shines for Him.
Sometimes, bulb go out and the light goes away. This is caused by it shining so much that the wick gets tired and goes out. The electricity (God) is still there, but the bulb isn't responding. That's a good reason to be thankful Jesus puts a new bulb in us.
